Perrie Lectures essay competition

Following the success of the essay competition in 2009 you are invited to enter the competition based around the 2010 lectures.

The title for the lectures in 2010 is:-

‘THROUGHCARE – WHO CARES?

Resettlement in the real world’

The aim of the essay competition is to attract views on the subject of the lectures from a variety of perspectives, particularly but not only, within the NOMS agency. Entries are, therefore, invited from those working with offenders or ex-offenders in a paid or voluntary capacity, from the statutory or independent sector and/or postgraduate students undertaking criminology research. In so doing we hope that we can spread the debate around the subject of the lectures and so further the aims and purpose of the Perrie Lectures.

Essays should be titled as the lectures above. Credit will be given to essays that are informed, well structured and provide a flavour of personal experience and reflection. Essay length to be a minimum of 1500 and maximum 2500 words, excluding any references.

All essays will be reviewed by the committee and the winner invited to attend the lectures and receive a cheque for £250.

Closing date for entries is Monday 12th April 2010

Essays must be submitted to Al Reid, al.reid@noms.gsi.gov.uk or in hard copy to Rm 114, Abell House, John Islip Street, London SW1P 4LH
